Hi! I am Rebeca Gonzalez de Lowe. I am a Spanish Teacher. I teach Spanish to all levels, from Beginner and Intermediate to the Advanced Level. I speak a little English. I like to spend time outdoors. Teaching Style
My teaching is flexible because each student is different. I can tailor your lesson by having a conversation on social life, travel, health, politics, or any topic you desire. If you prefer, you can learn Spanish by reading stories and articles in your new language. This will allow you to improve your grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. How would you like to learn this wonderful language?
You can make suggestions or follow my lead. We can find a way to make your lessons a learning adventure. If you want homework, I can produce custom lessons and translation exercises, We can also practice real-world interactions with audio and video on different topics.
I have worked with people of all ages and levels, from beginners through intermediate to the advanced level. I teach Spanish for travelers and professionals, such as teachers, engineers, economists, interpreters, and doctors. I can also tailor the lesson content to your profession. My English is near the intermediate level.

“Before online tutoring, I tried group classes at our local community center to learn Spanish. I love to work online because the one-to-one classes really focus on my level, interests, and needs. My tutor, Rebeca, is patient, encouraging, and always fun to work with.”
Francis F.
“I survived my first lesson without valium thanks to Rebeca. She is extremely calm and knows how to pace the lesson well. I also learned so much about Guatemalan culture that I was unaware of. Muchas gracias, Rebeca!”

"I have been taking lessons from Rebeca on and off for many years now and I could not be more pleased with the instruction. Rebeca uses many different approaches to teaching which keeps the classes interesting and engaging. One item she does especially well is to correct my speech in a productive non-negative manner. I have never heard he say 'No' when needing correction. I have nothing but praise! Thank you Rebeca!"

"Under Rebeca's expert and kind guidance I have grown so much in my Spanish ability. She has a strong foundation in teaching all areas including grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and social uses of language, and gave me plenty of structured and unstructured opportunities to practice. She puts her heart into her work. She was constantly attentive to my learning needs and my interests, helping me to develop a plan of study that helped me reach my specific goals. She also knows how and when to give corrections so that I knew what patterns of mistakes I was making and how to fix them. More than this though, over many months of almost daily classes, we developed a friendship that is precious to me. Rebeca is a remarkable teacher and I was lucky to have found her!”

"I work with Spanish speaking students and their families daily. I have studied Spanish in schools in Nicaragua, Guatemala and Mexico and Pronto Spanish has exceeded my expectations. The platform for the school is incredibly user friendly. The process of choosing a teacher and scheduling a class is seamless. The communication from the teachers about appointments is timely. I had the pleasure of working with Rebeca Gonzalez and was pleased with my experience (I continue to work with her on a regular basis). Not only is Rebeca kind and patient, she is also extremely professional. She always arrives to our meetings on time and prepared. I especially appreciate the objectives she sends prior to meeting. These objectives outline the themes that she and I have decided to work on (based on my interest and needs) and give me an opportunity to prepare for the meeting. Additionally, she takes time to follow up on our lessons with visuals and homework that promote my learning even when we are not together. Our recent objective was to help me prepare for an Oral and Written exam that I took. She not only researched the exam topics and expectations, but developed a plan for us to work through these topics to prepare me for the texts. I passed them both, and I am certain that if I had not had her help I wouldn’t have had the same success. I can not say enough about the Pronto Spanish language school. It is an incredible program with incredible teachers."

"I have worked with Rebeca Gonzalez de Lowe for over 10 years on my conversational Spanish. Rebeca is always extremely responsible and helpful and always has a good attitude. Our conversations are free ranging and cover a wide variety of topics because that is what I have requested due to my current professional skill level. When I make errors in conversation or have a question about usage, grammar or vocabulary, she consistently provides me with the correction as well as further practice. For example, if I needed more practice in certain features of the subjunctive tense, she can easily devise exercises on the spot. She is a wonderful human being and has a great sense of humor as well. I do use my Spanish professionally and enjoy exercising my linguistic muscle in our conversations. Rebeca is very intelligent and has taught me a lot of things about both Guatemalan and Mexican culture. She also has a lot of knowledge about other cultures in Latin America as well and always makes everything fun. She is very flexible with her scheduling also."

"I began taking Spanish lessons with Rebeca in 2015. I had completed the Rosetta Stone course, but I was really at an A1 level, I couldn't converse or understand the spoken language.
I have no aptitude with languages.
Rebeca took a logical approach to teaching, first the basics, then building on the basics. She utilized worksheets and study materials to build vocabulary, and simple conjugations of verbs. Rebeca is a very patient teacher. I never felt intimidated while trying to express myself in my new language. I think that this encouragement is important for beginning students.
After I overcame my "silent period", we expanded the curriculum through the use of other media: cartoons, children's tv programming, children's books became part of our classes.
Homework was assigned, short themes that I wrote about my life (with a translator app by my side) Rebeca encouraged passive learning (watching tv news, with and without subtitles) and active learning (reading simple books in Spanish).
I set a goal for my learning progress, which was to pass the DELE B2 test. (Nivel intermedio avanzado). Rebeca was very encouraging , we reviewed the syllabus together during our classes. Eventually, I did pass the test in 2019. I owe it all to Rebeca and her encouragement and guidance.
We live in Florida. I receive compliments on my Spanish every week "tu espanol es bueno, donde aprendiste?". Aprendi en Skype, con mi profesora Rebeca.
Rebeca can design the curriculum to the needs of the student. Today, I still take 2 or 3 of her classes weekly. Usually we engage in complex conversations or watch native speaking videos from NPR. This is my choice, because I don't want to "lose" my abilities.
Rebeca is a great teacher, her flexibility, enthusiasm, and compassion set her apart. Your company is lucky to have her."
Carol V., Homeschool Teacher
"Rebeca Gonzalez de Lowe is the best online teacher we have found in the pandemic. My daughter loves her class. It's a much more meaningful experience than just signing up for a group chat on Outschool. Rebeca offered to either teach lessons along with a book or just have conversations. We opted for conversations. The result has been my daughter is much more comfortable and fluent speaking in Spanish. She looks forward to the calls. She writes stories in Spanish to tell Rebeca. During the call I hear Rebeca gently correcting her. If my daughter gets stuck, she can duck back into English and Rebeca explains how to say it. I know she's getting better because I can no longer understand all that they're saying. I couldn't recommend Rebeca as a Spanish teacher more highly. She's also a kind and interesting person. My daughter enjoys talking with her on all sorts of subjects--food, dogs, ghosts. Rebeca makes learning Spanish fun."

"I have been taking online Spanish Language lessons from Rebeca since 2018. I appreciate her ability to create lessons that are exactly right for me. In addition to practicing grammar together we have conversations about interesting topics. The homework she sends to me every week is excellent. There is a mix of grammar exercises, some fun videos to watch and interesting articles to read. I feel that learning in this way has really advanced my progress. She speaks Spanish in a way that I can understand and always takes time to explain things when I don’t understand. My ability to speak, write and understand Spanish has grown consistently under her guidance. She makes learning very enjoyable. I highly recommend Rebeca."
